Sunrise leading into Day

For Waiata DawnemailSinging at Sunrise

Angela Swann’s response to Waiata Dawn Davies’ poem Singing at Sunrise. This work has been in the front window of the Gallery for the last ten days and has attracted a lot of attention.

DayPamela Brown chose to use an old school map  as the canvas for her response to David Kelly-Hedrick’s poem, Day.

I feel as though there should be some chalk dust on the Gallery floor!  When I collected this artwork from Pamela I was immediately taken back to my primary school class room where  the world map was stored rolled up above the blackboard. There was always a very chalky smell and an explosion of chalk dust as it was unfurled over the blackboard.
